PwC says bulk of Russian companies doubt cloud security

MOSCOW, Oct 8 (PRIME) -- More than a half of Russian companies doubt safety of cloud technologies because of multiple reports on data leaks and various expert opinions, international consulting company PwC said in a research seen by PRIME on Thursday.

“The matter of cloud security is becoming a priority task for a rising number of companies. Already now 66% of respondents…are at an advanced or intermediary stage of implementation of cloud technologies. They mention scalability (74% of respondents)…, cost optimization (67%), and access to the locally unavailable technologies (48%) among the advantages of the cloud,” PwC’s partner in Russia Vitaly Sokolov told PRIME.

“At that, some of them are afraid of making the first step in this direction. 58%...have doubts about safety of the cloud.”

Such concerns are mainly provoked by information about leaks and opinions of internal and external experts.
